About Us
With over 40 years of experience, providing care and supporting families - Five Star Family Day Care NSW is a community-based, not-for-profit service.
We provide care for families across the Upper Hunter, Hunter, and Central Coast regions, including Maitland, Lake Macquarie and the Central Coast, Cessnock, Singleton, Muswellbrook and the Upper Hunter, Port Stephens and Newcastle areas.
Quality education and care are provided in the Educator's own safe and nurturing home-based environment as a positive alternative to centre-based care. We recognise each child’s own unique strengths, personalities, and needs, ensuring they receive the individual attention and support they deserve.
Five Star Family Day Care NSW is committed to ensuring every child has the opportunity to learn, grow and shine.

How Is Family Day Care Different?
Unlike larger childcare centres, home-based care creates space for deeper connections between educators, children and families. This setting allows educators to truly understand each child’s personality, preferences and needs, offering guidance that reflects their stage of development.
Children benefit from low educator-to-child ratios, which means more opportunities for one-on-one learning and fewer transitions throughout the day.
This structure also fosters consistent routines, gentle support and flexible programming tailored to each child.
Families have greater input and communication with their chosen educator, building mutual trust over time. For those wanting meaningful care within a homely setting, this model offers an unmatched level of personalisation and stability.
